Evening Walk

Just got back from a deliciously refreshing, much needed 40 minute walk out in the fresh air. Decided to steal a few moments away at the computer to post this as dear husband reads the two oldest a story before bed. It's been a tough day, exhausting (not even two weeks since my surgery -appendicitis), with my youngest in a bad habit of continual whining... how do I get him to stop???
So needed a break and left the house right after supper. Feel much better now and ready to face the dishes and then a quite evening with hubby.
Pondering Psalm 16 this week...
" Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [my inner self] rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety" Psalm 16:9
You are ever watching over me, Lord... thank-you.

Fullness of Joy

Psalm 16:11

"You will show me the path of life;
in your presence is fullness of joy,
at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore."

Meditating upon this passage today...

I need His guidance, His presence, His fullness of joy.
What does it mean to be at His right hand?

How do I find joy in the simple life moments of my everyday...

Teach me, Lord.

Blessed Assurance

I love this old hymn by Franny J. Crosby, "Blessed Assurance".
"Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine,
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of Salvation, purchase of God,
born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
angels descending bring from above
echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
watching and waiting, looking above,
filled with His goodness lost in His love.

This is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long,
this is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long."

I wanted to name my blog "perfect submission" but it was already taken. However, I still wanted to write about this hymn, as a reminder to me of how I need to live my daily life...

In perfect submission, all is at rest... I, in my Savior, am happy and blessed.

This is my story....
