Embarcing a Change...

"And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight in the bud
was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."
~ Arais Nin

:::::

It's time for a change, dear friends.

As Spring is here and the weather warms up I am finding that it is time again for me to reassess my priorities. Slowly moving from indoors to the wonderful world outside, I am realizing that this computer is again taking over too much of my life and I need to simplify.

My desire for this season and for the coming ones as well is to live life to the full. To intentionally plan my days in order to have order and routine, and as many outdoor hours as possible.

I am finding that if I don't plan my days ahead of time, the hours just get frittered away and I continually have the feeling that I am wasting my time. I don't want to look back on this time in my life with regret, realizing the wasted hours.

And so I am moving to a simpler way of blogging... through pictures. I absolutely love photography and though I really don't have a clue as to all the proper lingo and camera's of "real" photographers, I am still no less enthralled with the exquisite beauty that can be captured by the click of a button.

So please, if you'd like, come by and see...the link is here and in my side bar. I may post words once in a while but it will mainly be pictures with a brief description in the comment box.

I hope you enjoy the beauty of his creation in the way I have chosen to capture it.

  3. I love that you are taking charge of your time here. This space should be a beautiful compliment to your real life...and I know how easily that gets turned around so that we are spending our best here instead of there. I look forward to *hearing* your heart through your photos.

    Good for you!

  10. Oh Katrina, I will miss your words. I am just getting to know you, and I so enjoy reading your thoughts. However, I have come to realize that the blogs I love and appreciate the most are written by women whose hearts are turned toward the Lord and family and that very thing is what often will compell them to spend less time on the computer.
So...while I will miss your words I am delighted that you will be using your time wisely - investing in those things of eternal value. Even at my "advanced age" I find the Lord speaking to me about the very same thing. This wonderful medium so easily seduces me away from things of far greater value. Somehow I think it is all intertwined with that need to be valued by others - that need for approval with which I struggle so often. He keeps whispering to my heart that His approval is all that really matters.
I will definitely look at your pictures. You are a gifted photographer.
I pray the Father will bless your days and fill them with His presence and love.

  11. Oh Katrina,
I, too, will miss your writing but at the same time I am so excited for you... to see the Lord moving, speaking to you, showing you which way to turn... to see you continue to capture His beauty, to see you fully embracing your roles... I pray that Lord uses this next season in your life greatly.

Hopefully we'll be able to stay in touch... :)

    My love,
    Carrie

  12. these words of nin's have been some of my favorite for a good many years.

i celebrate your faithfulness, katrina. these days we absolutely must put our hands to the plow ... and i mean that broadly, loosely, figuratively and literally ... and not look back.

if our Lord is asking you to develop (no pun intended) a keener eye, it is for good reason. if He is asking you to walk with Him in the cool of the day, then depart dear one. something is coalescing inside you. give it your best hospitality ... feed the soil ... water it!

    bless you.
