Sneak Peak at 20 Weeks

We went together, on Monday, our 3 boys, as well, to see this new little one. Yes, just on a screen but still so amazing.

We gazed in awe as two perfect little feet emerged from the black on the screen, a little hand five fingers outstretched, an arm...
then a leg. We smiled at the profile with perfect little nose... who will this baby resemble most?

We laughed as the baby responded with little movements and wondered at the beauty of that little heart, pumping so steadily and surely.

We have never seen an ultrasound for any of our boys as clear as this one. Maybe because I had to wait 'till 20 weeks rather than the usual 18?

I went to the doctor this morning to hear the results.

Healthy? Yes!

Boy or girl? We know now and, of course, we rejoice!

Will we tell others? Hubby wants to keep it secret for at least a little while anyway.

I am feeling just a bit strange, knowing. It seems odd to know, and not have the baby to see and hold like I did with my other children. This is the first time we have found out and I am glad we did...

... I just have to let these knew thoughts sink in now.

  1. Wow! So, so exciting. I'm glad you dared to find out if it's a boy or a girl. I'm glad you don't regret it either.
Jayden told me the other day that he was going to have a little sister and that he was goin' to build here a doll house. Hope he's right. Do the boys know?
I want to see the ultrasound pictures some day.

  2. The boys don't know. I really want to tell them but will wait for hubby's "O.K.".

  3. Yah! Oooh I can't wait to hear from you as well! I wondered if you were going to find out, I'm glad you did! Blessings sweet friend! I hope to see you soon...Maybe in May? I was thinking the 20th?...

  4. Oh my friend, how absolutely wonderful! And, oh how you will treasure those pictures...

How are you feeling? Are you ready for school to be over?

    Sweet Blessings!

  5. I'm so excited to find out what the baby is.
Maybe it's not a good idea that I know you know.
    I'll respect the wishes however.

  6. exciting! I can't wait to know. Blessings to you my friend!

  7. OH that is so exciting!!! If you don't mind me asking seeing you didn't find out with your boys why did you end up finding out with this one? Seeing that I'm pregnant, people are trying to get me to find out for this one. I can't wait to find out what you are having though. So excited for you!

  8. What a sweet and precious time this must have been, to share it with the littles.

When I found out the sex of my boys, we had the names picked out soon to follow. It was very special because then, in my journals to them, I was able to call them by name.

Enjoy this sweetness, Katrina. You look beautiful!

  9. I love the photos! My children are now 14 and 12, so seeing your pregnant stomach and those beautiful sonogram photos brought back wonderful memories.

With our first child, we found out the sex (a girl) but with the second, I wanted to be surprised. Either way, truly a blessing!

  10. hi katrina! Exciting that you know now... and that everything is good and baby is healthy. I am doing great. Just not in the mood of posting lately. I am looking forward to June :D

  11. How wonderful Katrina. I never got to do that. It just wasn't available in the "good old days." I think it so nice that the children got to see the baby too.
I'm so glad you're doing well. This is such a precious time.

  12. Hi Katrina I love you so much and am so curious.Check the mail in a few days.

  13. Congratulations! Is that you in the photos? You look amazing!! How exciting for you and your family! I wonder if it's a girl!

  14. wow! Time has flown by... I love these photos... Scan photos always fill me with such excitement :) I hope you are feeling well, and cherishing your pregnant days; are your boys being good for you? Are they helping out around the home, and looking after their Mama??
I am now impatient to hear, soon (!!??!!!) which type of human you are carrying ;o) Please don't take too long before you tell us!
Much love, my long-distance, bloggy friend, and big virtual hugs
