Slow and steady.

Just a few things I've been up to lately.

-Making rhubarb sauce. (One of my favorite homey sounds is hearing the "pop" as the lid seals on the jars.)

-Slowly clearing out my kitchen of highly processed and refined foods.

-Finding ways to make snacks and other food items from scratch.

-Trying our best to stay off the "whites" ...sugar, flour, rice, pasta...

-Finding ways to get as much calcium and magnesium into our diets without having to drink pasteurized, homogenized (store bought) milk.

-Finding simple, eye pleasing ways to store the bulk items that I buy. (Eventually I would like to go with all glass containers and jars.) Slowly weeding out the bad plastics from our home.

I really love to organize my kitchen and am so thankful for the convenience of it's size and the simple look of it's decor.

What's your favorite room to keep organized?

  1. I don't know which is my favorite room to keep organized. But my bedroom is in great need of some organization these days :)

i agree about the 'pop' sound :D

  2. Looks great! Honestly I don't like to organize except for about a month after I have a baby (that's when nesting sets in for me and my strange hormones... and I feel so great because I'm not puking anymore). I'm not neat by nature, but I do like being able to find things. I did recently take all the door off my cabinets and I love the way that looks and fills in our tiny kitchen. It's much easier to get at things as well... and somehow even looks tidier. I'm hoping to go to all glass as well someday :o) How are you feeling? So curious what flavor this baby will be... happy for you!

  3. I love this... and you ask what my favorite room to keep organized is? Can I say all? (Although, our bedroom closet could you a little help right now.)

We are on the same journey with foods. Would you please share what you have found for snack recipes? That seems to be the hardest for me.

  5. Oh no, Mrs. Wibbs, my babies don't like to come early. :) My first was 1 day late, 2nd was 4 days late and the 3rd was 7 days late! I would like to think this one may be a bit different but I'm not holding my breath, that's for sure! :)

  6. Sounds like some great plans. There's no better way to clean house than to actually move out of it like we just did. Making homemade things is the best!
